THE Government has been told to act quickly to resolve delays in allocating EU funding to the North West.
Local MEP Theresa Griffin has called on the local government secretary Eric Pickles to work with the European Commission to secure the £895 million that the North West region is due from the European Union, money that will be invested in existing and future projects.
Ms Griffin said:" Until there is an agreement, there is a risk projects in Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Liverpool, Cheshire and Warrington will see a gap in their funding."
