A PRIMARY school is celebrating after being praised in its latest inspection.

Parklee Community School in Atherton was ranked "good" after a visit by education watchdog Ofsted in 2015.

And the Wardour Street school continues to remain good after a two-day inspection on September 17 and 18.

The latest report said: "The school is well led and managed.

"Leaders and governors know the strengths and areas that need improving in the school.

"Pupils feel safe at school, because there is always someone that they can speak to if they have any worries.

"The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

"There is a strong culture around keeping children safe throughout the school and in the wider community."

Head of school Becky Wood said: "I am incredibly proud of the latest Ofsted report, and while we have always known how special Parklee is, it is nice to have it in writing.

"The inspector was incredibly positive about all aspects of school and she told us she wished her daughter could come here - which is one of the biggest compliments she could have given us.

"She could see how happy, cared for and polite our children are and when you have happy children it means they learn and reach their full potential.

"I would like to extend my thanks to all our staff, governors, families and most importantly the children who were determined to show her how special our school is - and succeeded."
