Five of the happiest places in Britain are in the north, according to a new poll from Rightmove.

The propery giant's Happy At Home index found residents of the Northumberland market town of Hexham are the happiest in Britain.

They join residents in other parts of the North of England – including Harrogate, Skipton, Altrincham and Southport – which also appeared in the top 10 list compiled by property website Rightmove.

But how happy is your town? We've compiled a list of all the towns in the North West.
