TOYS are being collected for children who may not get a present this Christmas.
Wigan Council is running a toy appeal and has asked its staff to donate a toy or selection box to give to children whose families may struggle to buy them a present.
This year the presents will go to children in Leigh.
Residents can drop off a toy at The Turnpike in Leigh on Friday, December 13 or the receptions at Wigan Town Hall and Wigan Life Centre North.
All donations should be suitable for primary school children aged between four and 11, and the toy should not be wrapped.

Council chief executive Alison Mckenzie-Folan said: “These donations will truly help families who may otherwise struggle to buy their children a present.
“We know our communities are so generous and that is one of the brilliant things about our borough.
"If you can, please help us to make every child smile this Christmas.”
Last Christmas more than 200 toys were donated and distributed to children across the borough.
