A football fan was punched in the face after telling his assailant he was an Arsenal supporter.

The victim was travelling on a train between Burnley and Preston following the Clarets' home game against Arsenal on February 2.

On Monday, the British Transport Police released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.

"The suspect is reported to have asked if the victim was an Arsenal fan.

"When the victim responded 'yes', he was punched in the face.
