POLICE are hunting for a woman after a stabbing this afternoon, Wednesday.
Officers were sent to Elliott Street in Tyldesley shortly after 4.10pm to reports that a woman had been stabbed there.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and a 39-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
An air ambulance was spotted nearby.
Police are now searching the area for a woman who fled the scene before officers attended.
A description of the suspect has not been released.
No arrests have been made.
