A MAN who drove a Transit van while disqualified from the road has been jailed for 12 weeks.
Vasil Udila, of Rugby Road, Leigh, was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court.
Udila, 47, a Romanian national, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance on May 29 this year.
Udila was caught driving a Ford Transit on Bonnywell Road, Leigh while disqualified.
At the court the 47-year-old was given a jail sentence of 12 weeks.
A court document said this was because the offence was considered so serious as Udila "has a flagrant disregard for court orders".
Udila was given no separate penalty for the driving without insurance charge.
He was also made to pay a £128 surcharge to fund victim services. Udila was also disqualified from the road for another 24 months.
