A ROLLING row between two motorists ended with one running into the back of the other.

Blackburn magistrates heard that after removing his van from the scene Shaun Burke returned and failed a breathalyser.

Burke, 54, of Edleston Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report after the magistrates heard he gave a reading nearly three times the legal limit.

Scott Parker, prosecuting, said the van driven by Burke and a car were involved in an incident at the top of Springhill Road.

The van slowed in front of the car and when he drove round it the witness saw Burke making hand gestures towards him.

"He drove off but then realised the van was behind him," said Mr Parker.

"He stopped and the van ran into the back of him and the defendant got out and started shouting and swearing at the other driver."

Mr Parker said Burke said he was going to put his van round the corner and when he returned he was drinking a can of lager.
