VOLUNTEERS at Leigh Soroptimist Club have dug out the lycra and have their helmets at the ready as they bid to cycle 175km for charity this month.
Throughout June, members will be clocking up the kilometres and the pounds for Breast Cancer Now and The Christie – two charities which have helped support and care for members during some difficult times.
Soroptimist International is 100 years old this year and the Leigh branch is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
A spokesperson said: “We wanted to raise money for two charities that are important to us and what better way to celebrate the big milestones than to cycle a really long way and support their fundraising campaigns.”
The club is hoping to raise £300 and to make a donation visit justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sileighanddistrict
