A TOWN councillor has resigned her seat for personal reasons.
Cllr Ann Cunliffe is stepping down from her role on Blackrod Town Council as personal commitments prevent her from attending regular Monday night meetings.
She will continue to serve as a Labour ward councillor representing Horwich and Blackrod.
Cllr Cunliffe said: “This is a decision that I have not taken lightly and it is due to events out of my control.
“I am concerned at my recent non-attendance but, due to duties which clash with my town council meetings, unfortunately I do not see my circumstances changing in the near future.”
