THE Wanderers future of Craig Davies is now hanging in the balance after the striker broke down with another hamstring injury.

Neil Lennon has confirmed that the Wales international is likely to miss the rest of the season after pulling during a training session on Thursday.

Davies is undergoing scans today to confirm the extent of the problem – but with his contract up at the end of the season, major doubts have now been cast over whether the Whites can gamble on offering him an extended deal.

The 28-year-old looked back to his best after returning to the starting line-up on Monday with two goals against Cardiff City.

After the game he admitted the remaining five games would be crucial if he was to stay on at the Macron Stadium next season.

Speaking this morning, Lennon revealed the striker would not be in the picture for this weekend’s home clash with Norwich City.

“I think we’ve lost him,” he said. “He’s due for a scan and got injured in the warm-up, his hamstring again. I don’t know the full extent but it looks like he’ll be out for a while.”
