WANDERERS have not been able to tempt Chung-Yong Lee back to the club on loan.
The 29-year-old had been offered the chance of regular football in the Championship at Bolton, the club at which he made his name in England.
Chung-Yong and his representatives spoke to the Whites yesterday but have opted to stay and fight for a place at Selhurst Park.
A source close to the South Korea international told The Bolton News this afternoon he had “respectfully declined” a move back to the North West but that he wished Wanderers well in the season ahead.
Phil Parkinson is a big fan of Chung-Yong, who has 75 international caps for his country, but has now switched targets.
Cardiff City’s Craig Noone is the man most likely to sign on loan today but Wanderers are expected to try and negotiate extra space in their squad with the EFL following Ken Anderson’s takeover, which was completed yesterday.
Parkinson is currently restricted to 23 players with first team experience under terms of the transfer embargo.
