WANDERERS have three players treading the suspension tightrope – but Phil Parkinson doesn’t want them to tone it down.

David Wheater, Karl Henry and Darren Pratley are all on four bookings, with two more games to go before the EFL amnesty. One more yellow card against Reading tonight or Wolves at the weekend would mean a one-game suspension.

Mark Beevers misses out against the Royals after picking up his fifth caution at Preston North End on Friday night – but Parkinson says his players can relax, just so long as they don’t do anything silly.

“I had a chat with them prior to the game, making sure they were not going to get done by pulling someone’s shirt of kicking the ball away,” he told The Bolton News. “You don’t want to be missing players because of something like that.

“You can’t take that competitiveness away from them. If they get booked, they get booked. We have other players ready to come in.”

Parkinson does not believes there is any extra pressure on the outcome of the Reading game knowing a trip to Molineux to face the current Championship leaders is on the horizon.

“I don’t really look at it that way,” he said. “We can’t really change too much in the way we have approached games because it’s brought us success in recent weeks. I just have to make sure we pick the right team and deal with Wolves when they come around.”
