BURNDEN’S Paul Duke was the first member to complete the 10k course at the Greater Manchester Cross Country Championships in Heaton Park.
Duke registered a time of 43mins 58secs – a minute ahead of Marcus Taylor, who ran 44:59.
Keith Thomas (46:16), George Butler (47:07), Chris Greenall (52:09) and Mark Butler (54:27) completed the club’s representation.
Jackie Oakes was fourth F45 in the Wirral Way Half Marathon – a picturesque route starting in Thurstaston village on the peninsula.
She was the first of five members to conquer the course and recorded a time of 1:49:42.
Phil Holden was next in 1:58:36, followed by Emma Walker (2:11:59), Debra Hennessey (2:29:36) and Gillian McGowan (3:17:14).
Martyn Pollitt was the first of six members to complete the Central Lancs Half Marathon in Lea Town, near Preston. Pollitt came home in 1:31:16.
Two members recorded personal bests – Lyndsay Darbyshire with her time of 1:34:33 and Lucille Corrigan in 1:45:29. Isaline Pollitt recorded a time of 1:41:44, with Anne Ferguson crossing the finish in 1:45:44 and Katy Thompson in 1:47:10.
Dawn Evans travelled to Saltaire Village in Shipley, West Yorkshire, for the Sir Titus Trot half marathon – part of an historic running festival over multiple distances – and came home in 2:36:36.
