BOLTON motorbike racer Ben Heaton has got his first win in the national club championship.

Competing in the second meeting of the season, he followed up second-place finishes at Wigan's Three Sisters track with a second and a first at Darley Moor in Derbyshire.

Making his debut in the Supermono GB Championship, the Deane racer has made an instant impact.

As a late entrant at Darley Moor, a circuit he has never raced at before, Heaton had to start from the back of a full grid of riders in the first race, and stormed to second place with an outstanding performance.

With data recordings from that race, he and his new team, Jeff Miller Racing – for whom he was making his debut on a purpose-built Tigcraft KTM Grand Prix machine – went into the second race with more confidence and won.

He said: “Working with Jeff Miller and his absolutely beautiful Tigcraft KTM 690, we have so much more to come. This is just the beginning.”
