NATURAL talent Olivia Maguire has gone from just competing at javelin throwing in school to finishing ninth in the country this summer.
The 13-year-old Bolton girl only ever did the javelin to win points for her form up to a few weeks ago.
Then in a whirlwind week she became schools county champion and finished ninth in the country.
Not surprisingly, the Bolton School girl has just joined Bolton United Harriers where she will get specific coaching to maximise her potential.
She has been throwing the javelin for two years at school, where the Year 8 pupil gets training in the discipline and competes in inter-form competitions.
She showed her huge potential on sports day when she broke the school record which had stood for 20 years.
The Egerton youngster finished first in the Greater Manchester Schools Track and Field Championships at Longford Park in Trafford last month which qualified her to take part in the English Schools Championships in Birmingham where she finished ninth representing Greater Manchester in the junior girls' competition.
