IPSWICH Town boss Paul Hurst has refused to rule out Joe Garner leaving for Wanderers before the 5pm deadline.

Wanderers are known to have tabled a six-figure bid for the former Preston North End striker and are still hopeful some business can be done before the permanent transfer window closes.

Hurst confirmed the Tractor Boys would not be signing Josh Windass from Rangers – a move which would have significantly boosted Bolton’s chances of a deal.

A loan deal now looks the most likely between the two clubs – but speaking at his lunchtime press conference Hurst admitted he could not say for sure whether Garner would be with him at the weekend or not.

“I don’t think anyone will be leaving but this is the transfer window so anything can happen,” he said.

“Joe might be slightly different but I haven’t been told anything is likely. It’ll be as we are.

“Joe is clearly an experienced player and that experience could be vital for us. His situation is not a straightforward one. We’ll see what the next few hours bring.”
