THIS week's first flashback picture was brought into The Bolton News by reader Eddie Goodwin who wants help identifying the team and faces on the old photograph.

He believes the team may be St Peter and Pauls from Bolton but is unsure.

Mr Goodwin also thinks the picture was taken between 1954 and 1960, possibly at Hacken Lane pitches in Darcy Lever.

He said: "I think the tall player on the far left of the back row behind the man with the scarf on is Gerald Dobson."

Can you help Mr Goodwin identify the team or any of the players?

Does the picture bring back any memories for you?

THE second picture is taken from The Bolton News archives and features the 'Bowler Hatters' football team of the Nab Gate, Harwood, pictured before leaving for a continental trip in April 1971.

The information accompanying the photograph says after two seasons in the Bolton SSS League, a 14-man party from Nab Gate FC was heading to play two weekend matches in Belgium and Holland.

The Bowler hats were to be given to the opposition if they lost, according to team captain Jim Fisher.

Do you remember that team or did you play for them?

Did you go on that trip abroad or know how Nab Gate fared?
