BOLTON race driver Tom Bradshaw finished an excellent 13th at the Oulton Park Gold Cup over Bank Holiday weekend.
Competing in the Guards Trophy along with co-driver, 1970 Le Mans winner, Richard Attwood, Bradshaw demonstrated impressive skills in both the qualifying session and race.
The atrocious weather played into the hands of the Egerton driver and his partner.
In the 30-minute qualifying session, Bradshaw pushed the 1965 Porsche 911 to its limits in the damp conditions for just two laps until a safety car stopped the session.
Driving with a high level of maturity and composure, Bradshaw produced two very fast laps before handing over to team-mate Attwood, who brought the car home in a highly respectable 27th position out of a full grid of 39 cars.
The plan for the main race, which also took place in wet conditions, was to move the Porsche 911 up through the grid as far as possible without delay.
Bradshaw again started in the driver's seat and, quickly finding his form, moved up the order using the excellent handling of the 911 to its fullest.
After a 20-minute session he handed over to Attwood who had to use all his knowledge to ensure the car did not leave the track in the damp conditions and brought it home in a fantastic 13th position overall.
