ST Brendan’s and St Thomas of Canterbury took the honours at annual football and netball competitions for catholic schools in Bolton.
St Brendan’s took the Serra Cup for winning the netball tournament while St Thomas of Canterbury won the Canon Weston Cup for football.
Thornleigh Salesian College and St Joseph’s RC High School hosted the competitions.
In the football event, which attracted more teams than in previous years, St Thomas of Canterbury beat off the challenge of St Osmund and Andrew’s, St Bernard’s, St Williams of York, Sacred Heart, St John the Evangelist and St Peter and Pauls, beating St Osmund and Andrews 2-0 in the final.
Four schools entered the netball competition with St Brendan’s undefeated against St Thomas of Canterbury, St John the Evangelist and Sacred Heart.
