PREMIER Division leaders Flixton Cricket Club A continued their rampant early-season form with a 27-3 trouncing of promoted Hilton B who have yet to win a match.

Ramsbottom Town A dispatched their own B team in style with a 24-6 victory which included nines from Michael Moir and Richard Lightowler.

The remaining matches were more balanced with Wharton overcoming Ladybridge A 22-11, assisted by nines from Barry Elliott and Jacob-Reilly Cooper.

Nomads beat Hilton A 25-11 with a nine from Charles Musa, while Little Lever Cricket Club A beat Flixton Cricket Club B 19-12 helped by nine from Graham Jeffries.

Premier Division side Ramsbottom C have withdrawn from the league after it became apparent they would not be able to continue, while their captain Bryan Edwards has also suffered a broken hip after a fall.

In Division One the two frontrunners won, but unlike in previous weeks they did not have it all their own way.

Burning Desire beat Hilton C 22-15 and new team Wigan TTC had a 19-13 win against Coburg with Daniel Watkinson and Tony Whitney both amassing nines.

Farnworth SC A beat Meadow Ben A 20-11 with the usual nine from John Hutchinson and a nine from Iain Lindley.

In Division Two, leaders Bolton TTC had an expected 19-15 victory over Hilton Top Spinners assisted by a nine from Peter McCormick.

Second-placed St Paul’s Peel earned their fourth win of the season with a 20-12 success against Polonia Club B, Lee Devenport winning an expected nine.

Third-placed Hilton E beat Ladybridge B despite a resisting nine from John Birchall.

Newly-promoted Walkden Methodists went down 27-2 to Meadow Ben B, Farnworth Social Circle B beat a two-man Brasszone 22-9, and Heaton Cricket Club B had their third win, beating Hilton F 21-13 with nines from Martin Hulton and David Jones.

Unbeaten Division Three leaders Meadow Ben C beat Albany 25-11 with a nine from Ian Wheeldon.

Second-placed Polonia Club C suffered their first loss against Meadow Ben D 22-12 with Meadow Ben’s Neil Cowburn on nine.

Third-placed Farnworth Social Circle C had an 18-10 win against Ladybridge C assisted by nines from Christopher Lord and Pete Walker, while Farnworth Social Circle D went down 23-10 to Irlam Steel Social Club who had nines from David Yates and Matt Hood.

Hilton H beat their own junior Hilton I team 26-10 assisted by a nine from Wes Jones, while Hilton G hammered a two-man Meadow Hill B 27-1.
