THE match of day was played on Harper Green as unbeaten Dehaviland FC entertained Bolton Town with the Farnworth side maintaining their 100-per-cent record with a fine 5-2 victory.

Bolton Town came out of the blocks much the quicker and after 10 minutes took the lead with a fine finish from John Yates.

The goal seemed to spur on Dehaviland who were level within five minutes, Craig Sloan coolly slotting home with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Dehaviland were in control and creating chances and were only denied extending their lead by some excellent saves from Bolton Town keeper Lee Max Crompton.

The pressure finally told five minutes before half time when a quick turn and shot by John Stephenson gave the Farnworth side a 2-1 lead at half time.

The second half started as the first finished with Dehaviland in the ascendancy and man-of-the-match Crompton keeping his team in the game with a series of fine saves.

But again he could not hold out indefinitely and on the hour it was 3-1 following a neat finish from Sam Walker.

It became 4-1 five minutes later when Gareth Collquitt scored the pick of the goals – a fine volley from the edge of the penalty area.

Craig Sloan got his second and Dehaviland’s fifth before Joe Alderson got Bolton Town's second of the match five minutes from time.

Bolton Lads Club, Newbury and Astley Bridge Elite also still have 100-per-cent winning records.

Elite beat Breightmet Wanderers 3-2 at Barlow Park.

Joe Howlin scored two for Astley Bridge and Daniel Mogford sealed the three points with the winner at the death. Josh Harrison scored Breightmet's two goals.

Bolton Lads Club had a convincing 4-0 victory over lowly Great Lever Wanderers in which Marc Eccles, Jack Lee, Junior Ralphson and Zac Stringer were all on target.

Newbury won 2-0 at Kenyon Way with both goals coming from Dominic Sharples.

Nelson Wanderers got their second victory of the season as they entertained Tempest on New House Farm.

They won a tight game 3-1 with Jordan Byrne, Elliot Miller and Danny Jones their goalscorerers, and Christopher Bullworthy replying for Tempest.

Grapes travelled back to Farnworth with the three points after convincingly beating Unity Brook 5-1.

Ian Parr scored a hat-trick with the other goals coming from Kenny Bateman and a superb finish from Josh Spencer just seconds after coming on. Liam Churchill got the consolation for Unity Brook.
