RADCLIFFE Old Boys A lead Division One of the BSF Over-35s Football League by three points after scraping a 2-1 away victory over bottom side Bar Lane.

Daz Buckley and Abid Uddin were on target for Radcliffe with Matt Swailes replying for Bar Lane.

Rochdale Sports Club are second on goal difference above Dobbies A after both dropped points in 1-1 draws, Rochdale were away to Barhill whose goal was a penalty converted by Phil Ward while Wayne Traynor netted for Rochdale. Lee Dickinson scored for Dobbies as they shared the points with Queen Lizzy.

Radcliffe Vets A recorded a thumping 5-0 home victory over Salford Waggon and are in fourth place with a game in hand over the teams above them. Tommy Dawson and Danny Adamson each scored a brace while Mark Wilson added one.

Old Bolts lead Division Two after their 4-1 win at Radcliffe Town, but have played more games than the chasing pack. Paul Berry (two), Ben Hughes and Rick Stokes scored their goals while Sean Scully hit a consolation for Radcliffe Town.

Second-placed Horwich St Mary’s demolished Dobbies B 5-0 with two goals by Sammy Cardwell and one each from Jason Clarke, James Chorlton and Michael O’Rourke.

The other Division Two matches finished as 4-1 away wins. Bolton Lads and Girls Club are third in the table thanks to goals from Stu Vasaya (two), Del Rosso and Vijay Mistry but failed to keep a clean sheet as Peter Lennon scored for Home Guard Failsworth who are still without a point.

Neil Matthews scored two and Peter Crabtree and Paul Carows grabbed one each for unbeaten Turton while John Powell scored for Tika Taka Volunteers who have one point from three games. While Turton are unbeaten, they are only fourth in the table having played just two matches.

Moss Bank are top of Division Three on goal difference above Bolton Wyresdale and Radcliffe Old Boys B. They beat the Lever Arms by just one goal, but the final score was a remarkable 6-5. Neil Davies hit four goals, bolstered by one each from Phil Markland and Adam Hinckley, and John Kelly, Karl Lawton, Paul Grindley, Paul Drennon and Simon Dolan all scored for Lever to keep the game interesting.

Bolton Wyresdale went second on goal difference after a Mark Grundy goal and an own goal saw them to a 2-0 home victory over bottom side Radcliffe Vets B who are still looking for their first point of the campaign.

Royal Farnworth and Tavern FC shared the points in a 3-3 draw. Mark Drew (two) and David Aldred scored for the home side while John Coogan, Ian Crowley and Andrew Long levelled for Tavern.

Ainsworth remain unbeaten at the top of Division Four following a 6-3 win at Unity Brook.

James Mears, Carl Beale and Matt Young were on target for the home side, but Gareth Harrison and Martin Jones each scored two and Jack Coyle and Michael Jefferson added one to give Ainsworth victory.

The game at PF Bury was an even higher-scoring affair and despite scoring four, they lost to Heaton Casuals who hit six.

Heaton are now second with a game in hand and PF Bury third in the table.

Two Steve Erskine goals and one each from Ian Warburton and Mick Rowe were negated by Clint Mcloughlin (three), Rob Walsh, Damian Smith and Andy Lucas for Heaton.

Wigan Town had their first win when they beat Bury Seniors 3-1 away. Mark Burch, Glenn Muddiman and Dean Ainscough scored for the visitors and Kris Dumbarton replied for Bury Seniors.
