NEWBURY striker Dominic Sharples took his prolific goalscoring form to a new level on Sunday when he struck seven times.

His super show destroyed Unity Brook in a 10-2 win which kept his side top of the Bolton at Home Sunday League Premier Division.

Apart from Sharples – who has scored at least two goals a game this season – Sammy Lee McIntyre, Shane Garside and Anthony Heighway were also on target for Newbury, who have a 100-per-cent winning record from their five matches.

Jack Cranshaw got the two consolation goals for Unity Brook.

Bolton Lads and Girls Club are level on points with Newbury with an identical five-from-five winning record after they brushed aside last year's Division One cup winners Astley Bridge Elite 7-3.

Astley Bridge must have wondered what had hit them as they went in at half time 6-1 down.

Luke Howarth scored two and Jay Ralphson, Ashley Womack, Jack Leigh, Ste Ward and Corey Ogden one each for Lads Club, with two goals from Kev Myftaraja and a Daniel Mogford penalty Elite's reply.

Third-placed Dehaviland also maintained their 100-per-cent winning record with a 5-1 win at Breightmet Wanderers.

The goal of the game came from Dehaviland’s centre half Tom Halligan, who picked the ball up in his own area and ran the the full length of the pitch before hitting a screamer.

Dehaviland’s other goals came from Dave Blower, Nathan Jones, Sam Walker and Adam Walker.

According to Great Lever Wanderers manager Steve Lomax, his side have been improving week by week and they earned their reward on Sunday by picking up their first victory of the season.

And they did it in style with a resounding 6-2 win against high-flying Bolton Town.

The star of the show was Kristian Preston who scored four with Paul Farnworth and Danny Smyth getting Great Lever's others while Dillon Hewitt and Michael Entwhistle were on target for Bolton Town.

Tempest also got their first victory of the season – and again with a super show – as they hammered nearest rivals Deane 7-0 at Ladybridge.

Adam Bullock scored after just three minutes but there were no more goals in a tight first half.

Tempest were totally dominant after the break with Ben Davies scoring a hat-trick and Kris Powers, Liam Pepper and Ryan Jordan getting the others.

Reigning champions Top Club put the previous week's defeat behind them with a comfortable 5-2 home victory over Nelson Wanderers.

Scorers for the Little Hulton side at Kenyon Way were Travis Vaughn with three, veteran Anthony Staines and Adam Doyle, while Jordan Byrne and Andrew Maitland replied for Nelson.
