JOHN Oxley-Harrison is proving himself to be one of the top young showjumpers in the country.
A succession of injuries could not prevent the Bolton youngster from producing an outstanding performance at the national junior championships.
He finished just outside the medals in fifth place out of a massive 267 competitors at the Junior British Show Jumping Nationals at Stoneleigh in the Midlands.
His performance came despite the Bolton School Year 9 pupil suffering a number of injuries leading up to the event – the highlight of the junior showjumping calendar – including a double fracture of his clavicle and ongoing back and shoulder complications.
The Year 9 pupil at Bolton School, who is from Westhoughton, has also been selected to represent the Junior Northern team.
