IF Wanderers are to leave Rotherham with three points tomorrow they will have to end a barren run stretching back to the days of England's finest footballing hour.
Bolton last won on Millers soil in August 1966, when images of Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, Nobby Stiles and the Charltons were still fresh in the public's mind.
Traditionally, the New York Stadium, and Millmoor, have not been happy hunting grounds for the Whites, who have just that one victory at Rotherham – more than half a century ago – in the books.
Wanderers have had three league draws in South Yorkshire since that win, a 2-2 draw in 1967 and two 1-1 draws in the early eighties.
But those aside, their record at Rotherham has been little short of desperate.
Their last visit, on Boxing Day 2015, ended in a 4-0 thumping, 11 months on from a 4-2 loss.
Home advantage is all-important when the two sides meet, as each of the last six games has ended in victory for the hosts. Rotherham last won at Burnden Park in a Division Three fixture in 1990 and their last trip to the University of Bolton Stadium resulted in a 2-1 victory for the Whites, courtesy of an early goal by Jay Spearing and Kaiyne Woolery's late winner.
