KEN Anderson believes this season’s Championship is still wide open.

Writing in his column on Wanderers’ official website, the chairman put a positive spin on recent form, pointing out Phil Parkinson’s side was currently just five points off the top six.

Bolton have won once in their last nine games but fought back to claim a point on Saturday at Rotherham United.

They now face back-to-back home games against Nottingham Forest, on Wednesday, and Hull City on Saturday. And Anderson is hoping Wanderers can rediscover the winning touch.

“One thing that has become apparent this season is just how wide open the Championship seems to be which has made it more of a level playing field in comparison to last season where Wolves were runaway leaders for the majority of the campaign,” he said.

“On its day, any team can beat another. At the weekend, several of the leading teams, such as Leeds United, Sheffield United and West Brom, lost their matches which has made it possible for teams to move positions quite significantly.

“Looking at our position we are just five points away from a play-off berth, so it’s key to find consistency and get a run of results together.”

Wanderers have also announced that a free concessionary season card upgrade will be available for the Forest game.

A statement said: "Concessionary season card holders wishing to upgrade their tickets for Wanderers’ Sky Bet Championship clash with Nottingham Forest can do so free of charge.

"Available to supporters in possession of under-12, under-18, under-23, over-65 and over-75 season cards, fans are able to upgrade their ticket to a full adult for Wednesday’s clash with The Reds.

"All adults wishing to use a concessionary season card simply has to present the card at the turnstile to gain entry to the stadium. No paper upgrade ticket will be needed for this fixture."
