KARL Dunbarton grabbed a last-minute winning goal as Newbury maintained their 100-per-cent winning record against Farnworth neighbours Dehaviland.

The Division One pacesetters won an enthralling game 5-4 at Harper Green.

Striker Dunbarton gave Newbury the lead from the penalty spot after three minutes but Dehaviland hit back with two goals from Craig Sloane – the first from a one-on-one chance against the goalkeeper and the second when he converted a square pass from experienced striker Arron McCarthy.

The teams went into half time level when Dominic Sharples scored the rebound after Dehaviland keeper Adam Walker had saved Dunbarton's penalty on 44 minutes.

Charlie Scholes fired Newbury back in front on 50 minutes, and it was 4-2 when Sam Bradley played in Sharples who tucked the ball into an empty net.

Dehaviland were not done yet and pulled level with a Devon Hill 30-yard scorcher into the top corner on 80 minutes followed by a shot by Reece Jones which somehow managed to find its way into the back of the net two minutes from time.

But the comeback was rendered meaningless when, straight from the restart, Dunbarton pounced on Charlie Scholes' ball into the box.

Last season’s champions Top Club maintained their recent impressive form on Sunday when they followed up the previous week's 11-1 romp with a 10-0 hammering of Unity Brook at home.

Goalscorers for the Little Hulton side were Travis Vaughn (three), Adam Doyle (three), Ryan Porter (two), Auden Heaton and James Dickie.

Great Lever Wanderers have been putting in some excellent performances of late and Sunday was no exception as they leapfrogged Farnworth side Grapes FC in the table with a convincing 9-2 victory over them.

The hero for the Wanderers was Kristian Preston who scored five goals, with the others coming from Taylor Preston, Paul Farnworth and brothers Shane and Danny Smyth.

Bolton Town took the bragging rights when they won their derby against Breightmet Wanderers 3-1.

The ever-reliable John Yates, Jordan Locke and Jordan Croft with a superbly-struck free kick were the Town scorers with Connor Ryan replying for Breightmet.
