FRESH from finishing 13th at last weekend's Warrington Way ultramarathon, Mark Liptrot was the first of 13 Lostockers to finish Saturday's gruelling Tour of Pendle fell race.
A highlight of the fell-running calendar, the race has numerous energy-sapping climbs during its 27k that starts and finishes in Barley village and visits Pendle Hill, Barley Moor and Spence Moor.
Liptrot finished the unforgiving race in a time of 3hrs 12mins 11secs, closely followed by Tony Marlow in 3:18:18 and Albert Sunter in 3:20:38.
Chris Taylor continues to show strong form with a time of 3:33:34 followed by Josie Greenhalgh in 3:34:06, Brian Halton in 3:57:54 and Mike Ernill in 3:57:55.
Mark Checkley turned in a strong time of 4:00:26, as did Rob Sharkey (4:09:42), Pete Noble (4:12:17), Jordan Sunter (4:15:35) and Kerry Varden (4:22:08).
James Jackson was back on the trails and moors around Rivington for the equally brutal Hell of a Hill marathon that visits the summit of Rivington Pike five times over the 26.2 miles.
He finished 14th in a time of 4:40:37.
David and Anthony Wilcock continued their British and European half marathon odyssey at the Conway Half Marathon with David continuing his recent strong form in a time of 2:01:36 and Anthony finishing in 2:05:21.
However, Lostock bragging rights went to Claire Shewbridge with a time of 1:58:49.
In parkrun, Gareth Pratt was 17th overall at Haigh Hall with a new personal-best time of 22:21, with Andy Laycock turning in an equally strong time of 23:01.
Jocelyn Chadderton finished Bolton parkrun in 27:13.
