FARNWORTH boxer Jack Flatley returns to home soil in Bolton tomorrow looking to end the year on a high.

The 24-year-old has an unbeaten professional record of 12 wins from 13 outings and is eyeing a national title shot in 2019.

But first he wants to shine in front of a home crowd at the Bolton Whites Hotel at the University of Bolton Stadium, as he switches to a new division of light middleweight against 27-year-old Bulgarian Angel Emilov.

Emilov has nine wins from 31 fights, losing 23 in his pro career.

Flatley told The Bolton News: “It’s going to be great to be back in front of a home crowd with lots of friends and family coming down. It’s around 18 months since I fought in Bolton. It is my first fight at light middleweight and I’m looking forward to it.

“It has been a solid year for me and while I wanted to try and get a title shot, hopefully that will come early next year.

“I did have one scheduled but it fell through.

“I had a good test against Troy Williamson at the Manchester Arena which ended in a draw and I learnt from that.

“I have also had good sparring in Germany and then Australia in Melbourne with former Commonwealth champion Zac Dunn.

“So it’s been going well and now it’s about getting another win this weekend and then getting ready for big things in 2019.”
