BREIGHTMET Wanderers got the better of Deane in the only game to beat the weather in the Bolton at Home Sunday Football League this weekend.

It was looking like Breightmet were coasting at 3-0 up at half time, but Deane had them rocking when they pulled two goals back before Wanderers got the final goal of an enthralling game on the 4G pitch at Ladybridge.

Marcus Makin opened the scoring on five minutes and the lead was doubled 10 minutes later with an excellent finish by Jonny Birchall.

Breightmet's dominance would have been reflected by a bigger margin but for Deane's player/manager Craig Holt who pulled off some excellent saves.

He was powerless to prevent the third going in five minutes before the break when Dillon Hewitt hit an unstoppable shot.

It was a different story in the second half with Brad Boyer making it 3-1 from the penalty spot on 55 minutes and Deane's continuing pressure bringing them a second goal 10 minutes from time when Blaine Holt found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat and coolly picked his spot.

With Deane going all out for the equaliser they left themselves open at the back, and with only two minutes remaining Makin broke away and was brought down in the box and Lee Max Crompton slotted home from the penalty spot to secure a 4-2 victory.
