BOLTON Wanderers youngster Dennis Politic stole the spotlight from a watching David Beckham with a goal right out of the former England captain’s playbook.
Politic was turning out for Salford City in the Conference when he lobbed Dover Athletic goalkeeper Mitch Walker from near the halfway line in the ninth minute.
It was a strike reminiscent of Beckham’s famous effort against Wimbledon for Manchester United which truly announced him on the Premier League scene in 1996.

The 43-year-old was in the stands after it was announced he had bought a 10 per cent stake in Salford City last month, joining former Reds team-mates Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes as co-owners.
Sadly for Politc and Salford they lost the game 3-1 with another former Wanderer, Tom Walker, hitting the crossbar late on.
Romania-born Politic has been in the Wanderers academy for a few years and has made 11 appearances since signing with the ambitious non-league club. He has scored two goals in that time, the first coming against Havant and Waterloovile in January.
