THE EFL will meet tomorrow to discuss the potential punishment which could be dished out to Wanderers IF they fail to fulfil their fixture against Millwall on Saturday.

Bolton Council have threatened the tear up the safety certificate at the University of Bolton Stadium is they are not given assurances that legal standards will be met.

Wanderers’ failure to pay 400 full and part-time employees their February salary has left a degree of uncertainty over the number of match-day staff that will be available for the Championship game, due to kick-off at 3pm.

The club has until tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon to provide adequate proof that the game can go ahead safely, and it is understood they have provided written confirmation to the council that they can meet requirements.

There is no precedent for the EFL to call on at present but the board will meet late tomorrow afternoon to discuss the situation.

Failure to fulfil a fixture would be a breach of regulations and hence Wanderers would be found guilty of misconduct.
