HEATON fighter Khaleel Majid proved too hot for his opponent to handle, with a points decision at Bolton’s Whites Hotel.

‘The Major’ won every round of his welterweight clash against Antonio Horvatic, his emphatic victory enhanced by a heavy knockdown of the Croatian in the last of the four-round matchup.

His record now stands at 3-0 following victories over Londoner Lee Hallett and Ivan Godor of Slovakia.

“Khaleel’s power is evidently growing,” said Farrell. “He is hitting harder and become more and more entertaining as he gets more experience.”

However, Majid’s stablemate, ‘Big Ben’ Thomas was forced to settle for a draw in his match on the Kieran Farrell-promoted RiskVsReward show last Saturday.

Thomas, from Breightmet, looked to have done more than enough to take the decision against the experienced Harry Matthews.

Against a Central Area title challenger, Thomas impressed spectators but judges scored it a draw at the end of their four-round light-heavyweight contest.

Thomas had lost first first match as a pro in September but, after taking his first win against Darren Snow in January, now has a 1-1-1 record.

The sold-out event, in association with the Morson Group, had seven matches on the card, including a British Challenge Belt match between Morecambe’s Reece Macmillan and Lee Connelly as the main event. The Joe Gallagher-trained Adam Little was back in action after 18 months out. Little, from Kirkham, secured a fifth-round knockout of Nathan Hardy.
