FINAL CHANCE: Atherton Collieries AFC Academy Under-15s are one game away from becoming county champions. The youngsters are following in the footsteps of the club's successful open-age team, who are currently top of the Evo-Stik West league, as they target silverware and success this season. The promoted junior side are going well in the Junior Premier League National Elite league, where they compete against several professional club academies such as Doncaster and MK Dons, and have reached the final of the prestigious Lancashire FA County Cup which will take place on March 24 at the County Ground in Leyland. The team have won many admirers with their style of play since partnering with Select Soccer Coaching and have several players on trial at professional clubs. Chairman Andy Holliday said: “We are extremely pleased with the progress this season and these lads certainly have a bright future ahead. We are recruiting for next season and if anyone is interested in joining the club please email andy@selectsoccercoaching.com."
