WAYNE Entwistle has urged Bury's directors to make the next move as his proposed takeover of the club gathers pace.
The former Bury striker put forward his offer last Thursday and has been promised a meeting with club officials this week.
He is believed to have two major backers - one of which is local plant hire and manufacturing business, Garic Ltd - who are prepared to offer financial assistance and advice.
Entwistle, who played for the club in three spells between 1977 and 1988, has now said the ball is in the board's court.
"We have done everything they asked, and have been told a meeting will be arranged," said the 49-year-old, who runs a meat exporting business and four local farms. "We have two options now - the first is to have a look at the accounts and talk with our backers.
"The second is to invite other local businesses to get in touch. There is room for everyone.
"I have said before that it is a community club, a grass roots club, so if people want to get involved then that just means more funds for the manager."
Entwistle has praised the recent turn round in fortunes on the field, in particular what he described as Chris Casper's "coolness under pressure."
"Having apparently been given four games to save his job, to pull results round is nothing short of fantastic," Entwistle said.
"He is cutting his teeth, but for me, there are no better managers in this division.
"Everything is looking rosier at the moment, the squad looks good and five results in a row is tremendous."
