WANDERERS (4-2-3-1)

REMI MATTHEWS…6

Hard to criticise given he only had one save to make – the Wanderers keeper has had plenty busier afternoons this season.

PAWEL OLKOWSKI…6

When the ball actually reached him, the Polish full-back did look to push forward and create, putting a couple of decent crosses in.

DAVID WHEATER…5

Didn’t look up to speed against Ipswich striker Colin Quaner – one of the players who seemed weighed down by events.

MARK BEEVERS…5.5

Caught on a couple of occasions in defence – but proved an effective attacking weapon all day, winning numerous back post headers.

ANDY TAYLOR…5

Made some timely challenges but seemed to really struggle to use the ball effectively, prompting a few moans and groans from the crowd.

JOE WILLIAMS…4

Failed to put any real stamp on the game or get the team moving forward when he got the ball. Looked frustrated.

CALLUM CONNOLLY…4

Lost possession far too much in the first half before being moved back into defence in a second-half tactical change.

WILL BUCKLEY…4

Drifted through the game without making any real impression. One shanked volley from Olkowski’s cross summed up his afternoon.

GARY O’NEIL…5

Only played for 40 minutes and did so despite being ill prior to kick-off. Arguably showed more energy than anyone else in that period.

SAMMY AMEOBI…4

Only really sparked into life once Oztumer got on to the pitch but dropped off completely in the build up to Ipswich’s second goal.

JOSH MAGENNIS…5

Put himself about from time to time – but made little impact against the impressive Collins and Chambers.
