A FOOD bank collection site is being set up to help Wanderers’ unpaid staff with essential items - with help flooding in from across the football fraternity.

Collection points are being set up tomorrow (Saturday, May 18) at Burnden Park Asda, from 10.30am, and Middlerook Asda, from 12.30pm by the BWFC Foodbank.

The team plan to spend 90 minutes at each site and have already been backed by supporters’ groups from Liverpool, Everton, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Blackpool football clubs.

Donations can be dropped off with customer service representatives at both sites beforehand but NOT afterwards.

Among the non-perishable items being requested are: UHT milk, Sugar (500g), fruit juice (carton), soup, tinned tomatoes, tinned vegetables, tinned meat or fish, tinned potatoes, instant mashed potatoes, pasta/curry sauces, rice pudding (tinned), tinned fruit, biscuits or snack bars, cereal, men’s and women’s shower gel and women’s sanitary products.
