The Rugby Football League have confirmed their Challenge Cup triple header will go ahead as planned at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Wanderers' administrators have given the RFL assurances that the club will be able to host the final of the women's competition and semi-finals of the men's on Saturday, July 27. Tickets will now go on sale next week.

“Staging the semi-finals as a double-header was a major success for the game last season with great games played live on the BBC and in front of a sold out crowd at Bolton," said Mark Foster, the RFL’s chief commercial officer.

“Bolton was an excellent venue in 2018 which was why we wanted to return to the stadium this year.

"Since the club went into administration we have had a number of conversations with the administrators now running the club and the stadium in Bolton and we are delighted that they have given us the assurances we needed to be able to continue with staging the event there."

The draw for the semi-finals will be live on the BBC on Sunday after the quarter-final between the Bradford Bulls and Halifax.

Hull FC-Catalans Dragons, Hull KR-Warrington Wolves and St Helens-Wakefield Trinity are the other last eight ties.
