WANDERERS will be guaranteed games against Bradford City and Rochdale in the group stages of the EFL Trophy.

A pre-determined draw has already placed 48 EFL teams in 16 groups, with the fourth team for each group to be drawn live on Friday.

Wanderers, in Group F, could draw the Under-21 team of Aston Villa, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United or Wolves in the northern section.

The club has only once competed in the competition in its current guise, then sponsored by Checkatrade.

After losing at home to Everton’s Under-23s, Wanderers beat Blackpool 1-0 but then bowed out at the group stages with a 1-0 defeat at Cheltenham Town.

The EFL Trophy Round One draw will take place on Friday, live on talkSPORT on the Jim White Show at 12.30pm.
