LOSTOCKER Mary White had a successful weekend at the National Sprint Triathlon Championships at Box End, earning a bronze medal in her age group and also qualifying for a spot in team GB for the European Sprint Triathlon Championships in Malmo next year.

She completed the 750m open-water swim, 18.3k road cycle and 5.3k off-road run in 1hr 32mins 34secs.

Meanwhile, a team of three Lostockers took on the Fleetwood Half Marathon on Sunday, battling fierce headwinds along the way.

Despite the winds, Gareth Pratt continued his recent spell of good running form and achieved a four-minute half marathon personal best in a time of 1:41:34. This earned him 11th place in his age group and 68th place out of a field of 426 runners.

Anthony Wilcock and Hayley Cooper also posted strong times of 1:50:48, and 1:58:46 respectively, with the latter finishing sixth in her age group and also achieving a new half-marathon PB.

For Wilcock, the race marks the 28th out of 30 half marathons he is running in his 30th year to raise money for the social enterprise in Uganda, which will help to develop health, educational and self-directed sustainability projects.

Tony Marlow headed to Kings Lynn parkrun on Saturday, running his second fastest parkrun time in 21:20 and finishing in 30th place out of a field of 420 runners.

Closer to home, Pratt achieved a time of 27:33 at Bradford parkrun, and at Haigh Woodland parkrun, Ian Burns recorded a time of 26:23, and Francesca Corcoran earned a new course PB with a time of 30:16.
