JACK Cullen is set to be in front of the Sky Sports cameras again in October.

Little Lever’s Meat Cleaver caught the eye on his debut in front of a national TV audience with an impressive defence of his English middleweight title against John Harding Jnr.

The eighth-round stoppage in Liverpool at the start of the month was noted by promoter Eddie Hearn, one of the sport’s most influential figures, who praised Bolton’s rising star and his vocal support in a post-fight interview.

The Matchroom chief now looks set to feature Cullen again with the 25-year-old hoping to challenge Commonwealth champion Felix Cash in the near future.

The pair were originally set to meet at the Manchester Arena in July only for Cash to pick up a hand injury which ruled him out of the fight.

Cullen then accepted a defence against Harding Jnr and didn’t waste his chance to gain a new legion of fans in his most high profile fight to date.

The Tommy Battel trained fighter however has put out a plea for more sponsorship in a bid to help him be in the best possible condition ahead of his October Sky date.

“In order for me to continue with my journey as the current English middleweight champion I need sponsors to help with the costs of training, kits and my medical which is coming up shortly,” Cullen posted on social media.

“As a professional boxer people think it’s all big money but as I’ve explained before this is my job and not a hobby.

“I only get paid when I fight so sponsors play an important part in my career.

“Without them I’d not be able to do it.

“I will be fighting again on Sky Sports in October. Further details soon, but it’s not to be missed.”

Cullen has won 17 of 18 fights with his only defeat coming in a Prizefighter tournament in Dublin at the start of 2018.

He won the English title by stopping Jack Sellars in front of an raucous home crowd at the Bolton Whites Hotel in May.

Any new sponsors would see their logos on former Metro ABC fighter’s ring gear and across his social media.

Anyone wanting to lend their support to Cullen or wanting more information should contact him on social media.
