THERE were series wins for Burndeners Anne Ferguson, at the Harrock Hill Race, and Mark Jackson, at the Ice Lolly 5k series.

At Harrock Hill, fell race competitors run over 5.3 miles of tracks and fields of Harrock and Parbold.

Burnden newcomer Gareth Lowe finished first for the club in a time of 39mins 3secs, while Ferguson clocked 46:42 and was the series winner in her V60 category over the four races.

Other results: Steven Bate 49:17, Mark Butler 52:46, David Smith 66:37.

The final race of the popular Ice Lolly 5k series was also held in midweek at Walker Fold Woods, where Mark Jackson finished in his fastest time of the series in 21:15, also winning the series as overall first male in an average time of 22:17.

Eight other members took part with Sarah Watton finishing first female in a time of 23:12 and Vicki Hamer in third place in 24:42.

At the weekend, six members completed the Wigan 10k with many accomplishing personal bests.

Paul Duke led the club home in a PB time of 38:37, while Andy Dunleavy also notched a PB of 39:56.

Gayle Gerrard, who was aiming for a sub-50 minute time, sneaked in just under in 49:50.

The ever-improving Trevor Eagle was all smiles as he crossed the finishing line with his PB of 1:19:27.

The Golden Ball 10 and 20-miler at Lancaster saw four members take part.

Paul Drew opted for the 10-mile race which saw him run one lap of the fast and flat course around the paths of Lancaster, completing it in 1:18:21.

Meanwhile, Mumtaz Patel took on the 20-mile course, completing two laps in 2:44:59.

Emma Walker finished in 3:21:55 and Sharon Drew clocked 3:37:26.
