THIS week’s delve into the picture archives at The Bolton News has unearthed this photograph of an Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School football team from May 1980.
The picture shows the school side showing off the Farnworth and District Junior Schools Football Shield and the information accompanying it also states they were Section A champions.
The photograph shows captain Carl Madrick holding the shield and vice captain, Michael Gregory, clutching the Section A champion's cup.

The second picture featured in the sporting nostalgia section on August 2 and is of an old Atherton CC side.
Reader John Charlson, who recently retired after 60 years as Atherton CC secretary, got in touch with the names in the line-up.
He said: "On the back row, from left, are Howard Brooks, Duncan Brooks, Phillip Tomlinson, Bernard Emerton, Rob Haworth, Stephen Hurst; front, ? Harrison, Karl Gorse, Steve Walsh, Derek Bannister and Riddi Patel (pro)."
