CHRISTOPHE Menand led home the Burnden trio at the Hodder Valley Show fell race.

The 11k route in Newton in Bowland included 500 metres of climb and formed part of the club's fell championship.

Menand finished in a time of 1hr 9mins 50secs, followed by Keith Thomas (1:12:48) and Ged Turner (1:21:41).

A host of members made the short trip to Bury for the town's 10k race which saw Emma Walker achieve a distance personal-best time of 52:53.

At the Blackleach Country Park five-mile trail race, Andy Dunleavy carried on his fine form claiming first V60 and 10th overall in a time of 33:33.

Linda O'Byrne also claimed a podium position, finishing third V40 in a time of 41:11.

Two members took part in the Yarrow Splash 10k trail run which included a couple of river crossings.

First home was Mark Hallam (1:06:22) followed by Nicola Hardy (1:31:22).

Liz McLellan continued her great form on the triathlon circuit, this time at the South Manchester Sprint Triathlon.

She claimed first V50 prize with a consistent set of times, moving her way through the field steadily as the event unfolded.

Her times for the event were: 400m swim – 9:22, 25k cycle ride – 48:26, 6.3k run – 29:32, total time – 1:28:34.

Parkrun travellers this week included Simon Marland (23:19) and Sue Blackman (36:03) at Rotherham, and Andy Dunleavy (20:05) and Cheryl  Dunleavy  (34:41) at Haigh Hall in Wigan.
