BOXING bigwig Eddie Hearn is looking forward to seeing Jack Cullen’s vocal Little Lever support in action on his big night at the Manchester Arena.

Bolton’s English middleweight champion looks to add the Commonwealth title to his collection when he challenges Felix Cash on November 2.

Cullen, who has lost just one of 18 fights as professional, dazzled on his Sky Sports debut when stopping John Harding Jnr in eight rounds in Liverpool at the start of August.

Matchroom promoter Hearn, who guides the career of  heavyweight star Anthony Joshua among others, was taken aback by both the performance of ‘Little Lever’s Meat Cleaver’ and the support he had on Merseyside.

The 25-year-old’s fans are set to be out in numbers again for the short hop to the Arena for the biggest fight of Cullen’s career and one that is catching the imagination of fight fans.

It comes on a card headlined by Irish star Katie Taylor looking to become a two-weight world champion with Anthony Crolla also having his final fight on home soil.

“One of my favourite fights of the night is Felix Cash against Jack Cullen and these two young middleweights are outstanding fighters,” Hearn said.

“Felix Cash has for a long time been thought as of one of the rising stars of the division, captured the Commonwealth title, the WBC International Silver title.

“He had a few delays recently with injury but this is a perfect fight for him to show us how good he is against Jack Cullen.

“He showed us how good he is against John Harding Jr when he defended his English middleweight title.

“There was crazy support from Little Lever and there is going to be probably thousands coming on November 2.

“This fight is really going to show us who is going to go on and dominate at domestic level in the division.”

Cullen should have challenged Cash in July, only for the Surrey man to pick up a hand injury.

Bolton’s rising star was quickly thrust into action against Harding Jnr in Liverpool instead and he didn’t disappoint in his first appearance on national TV. 

Now he’s looking to pick up another title having won the English strap in front of his home fans at the Bolton Whites Hotel in May.

“It’s a big opportunity for me and this is the fight that I want against Felix Cash for the Commonwealth title,” said Cullen, who has eight knockouts on his record.

“I am really looking forward to it, training is going well and everything is bang on.

“Felix Cash is a tough, strong lad so I’m expecting a good fight.

“There will be more support than we saw for me in Liverpool for this fight and my fans are mad, it’s going to be a good show.

“These are the fights that I want so I am looking forward to it.”

Despite being the champion, Cash will feel like he’s fighting away from home given the support Cullen is likely to have in the Arena.

That doesn’t faze the 26-year-old though who has won 11 out of 11, stopping seven opponents early.

“This is the perfect fight for me to come back and show everybody how good I am,” Cash said.

“He is tall and he is awkward but I do believe he has never been in with a man or a fighter like me of my calibre.

“No disrespect to him but he has been chinned before and I plan on doing the same, he is a decent fighter but there are levels in boxing and I believe that I am levels above him.

“It’s always been real, every fight you get in to it doesn’t matter if you’re a favourite to win it is the same mentality, win at all costs.

“That is what I intend to do, this is boxing and I have been fighting since I was a child so it’s nothing new to me.

“It doesn’t matter what stage it is or how many fans he has got, it’s only going to be me and him in between those four ropes and I’m going to show him that there are levels.”
