WANDERERS are bracing themselves for an approach by Sunderland for goalkeeper coach Lee Butler and fitness coach Nick Allamby.

Phil Parkinson is understood to want the pair in his staff at the Stadium of Light following his appointment last week but there has not yet been a formal agreement between the two clubs.

Both Butler and Allamby joined Parkinson at Bolton from Bradford City in the summer of 2016 and stayed on after the manager’s resignation in August.

Keith Hill has yet to reshape his backroom, other than to bring in assistant manager David Flitcroft.

Asked whether he would have a decision to make, the Wanderers boss admitted a change in staff could be on the cards.

“Potentially, but there’s nothing that is 100 per cent guaranteed,” he said. “We have a plan and would obviously need people to replace them. But we’re happy to deal with that situation if and when it develops.”

Parkinson took charge of his first game at Sunderland on Saturday but watched his new club slip to a 1-0 defeat against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park.
