BOLTON Futsal Club hosted matchday five in the FA National Futsal Series, and put on a fantastic showpiece event for hundreds of spectators.

In a first for the club they staged an NFS matchday extravaganza, with their match against their counterparts from Kent the main event.

And, thanks to goals by Matt Overton, Jordan Deer, Connor Woodworth and Jose Sabatel, they ran out 4-1 winners.

As well as enjoying a victory on court, club officials hailed the success of the day as a whole, with more than 300 enjoying the entertainment at their base in Preston.

"The NFS format isn't just your normal matchday, its a Futsal Showcase event which calls for something special and something special is what we delivered," said Bolton Futsal Club's Natalie Fulop.

"We have been saying for a long time Bolton Futsal isn't like any other club in the NFS. We are a family. We aren't a business, we have no membership fee, no joining fee and no monthly subs.

"We run the club in an inclusive fashion, where every person is encouraged to feel ownership. We have a strong volunteer mentality and we think English futsal got the chance to see just what it means to be a part of Bolton Futsal Club.

"It has been said that Bolton Futsal Host Day set a benchmark in how to host an NFS event. That may or may not be the case, but one thing is for sure, it certainly has set a benchmark in how to establish a sustainable club.

"You must start with juniors as a foundation and they need to be at the heart of everything in order to create what we saw.

"We really want to say a massive thank you to all who took part in our match day, whether as a player, or spectator you made the event a true success. We owe a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid to our Bolton futsal family, whose continued support and efforts were just amazing."
