LOSTOCK AC's Rachel Hancock continued her recovery from injury as she launched the festive racing calender at the Wythenshawe Park 5-mile Christmas Pudding trail race.

In only her second comeback race after injury, Hancock turned in a time of 41mins 16secs over the off-road terrain around Wythenshawe Park to finish second in her age group, fifth woman and 20th overall among a 100-strong field of runners.

Back on the roads, a seven-strong Lostock team headed to Kirkham and Wesham for the latest round of the South Ribble Orienteering Club's winter league.

Competing in the 75-minute race, Tony Marlow was third overall, while Josie Greenhalgh and partner Darren Barker were first mixed pair home.

Dave Colgan and Mark Sammon were first men's pair home and Albert and Abigail Sunter the second mixed pair.

Also at Kirkham and Wesham, Matt Withers competed in the 60-minute race and finished 25th overall.
