BACK-TO-BACK shows at the University of Bolton Stadium form part of a busy boxing weekend in Bolton.
After being in Khaleel Majid’s corner in Altrincham on Friday night, Kieran Farrell will then promote both amateur and professional cards in the Lion of Vienna Suite this Saturday and Sunday.
First up are the pros on Saturday with some top up-and-coming talent set to be in action.
“Jack Bulger is looking for his 10th win and will be fighting for titles soon at super featherweight,” said Farrell, who expects around 450 fight fans to pack into the venue at the home of Bolton Wanderers.
“I think Gerome Warburton could be a future star. He’s got the looks and the boxing skills and dealt with an awkward opponent really well in his last fight.
“Sion Yaxley’s in with John Ardon, another unbeaten fighter, and they are the fights as a promoter that you love to make.
“Then there’s massive things ahead in the new year for Amy Timlin.
“She’s only 19 and there’s no rush with her but you can see in women’s boxing fighters can move through the ranks pretty quickly.”
Sunday’s amateur card has seen Farrell try to match champions from around the North West.
Fighters from Alex Matvienko’s Elite Boxing and Tommy Battel’s Metro ABC will be among those fighting in front of a home crowd with around 12 to 15 fights expected on a busy afternoon of boxing.
Tickets will be available on the door for both shows.
For Saturday’s professional show it is £30 for standing, £40 seated and £55 ringside with the first bell set for 7.30pm.
Sunday’s amateur card gets under way at noon with tickets priced £10 for adults and £5 for children.
